Why I Created the Maple Arrow Future Accountant Scholarship

I didn’t choose accounting because I loved spreadsheets.
I chose it because I loved helping businesses make sense of their story.

Behind every farm, contractor, coffee shop, nonprofit, startup, and dream — there’s money moving. And when that money is understood and organized well, businesses grow. Families stabilize. Communities thrive.

Accounting is powerful — not because it’s about numbers, but because it protects people’s hard work.

I created this scholarship because I believe the next generation of accountants won’t just “do taxes.” They will advise, innovate, build businesses, strengthen communities, and create opportunity for others. This field offers stability, flexibility, leadership, and the ability to design your own career path — whether that means working remotely, starting your own firm, becoming a CFO, or supporting small-town entrepreneurs.
